Beth couldn't say anything for a long time. All she could do was sob and cling hold of Maggie, and let the emotion make its way through her. Her small body trembled with the force of her crying, but the longer her sister hugged her, the more still and quiet she became. It was only when she had worked the tears out of her system that she lifted her head, but didn't move out of that hug.

"I think I have an idea." It was said with all the stubborn determination of a younger sister who didn't want the elder to think they didn't understand something, and it almost felt like they hadn't been separated at all the second she said it out loud.

"I don't know how we ended up in the same place together like this, but I'm gonna choose to be grateful. No matter what's going on here, we can handle it because we're together again." She moved out of the hug at long last, but took hold of Maggie's hand as she did. She didn't want to let her sister go, afraid that if she did, Maggie might slip away.
