Her utter tolerance of his grousing was disarming in a big way. He was used to people cringing and tucking their proverbial tails between their legs. Or barking back and getting in his face so he had an excuse to keep yelling, let out the frustration and anger and worry he had in a relatively healthy exchange of screams before he did his level best to apologize.
